Hi Everyone

I just wanted to make everyone aware that yesterday I received a Q email.  It was one that we all recieve when we might look up a few items and the email says something like" You forget this item", or something like that.  When I clicked on the link, (and yes I know better), my computer said this is not the QVC site, this is a fraudulent site trying to steal your info.  Im paraphrasing, but you get the gist. The email looked exactly like the Q email, word for word and type, headings, format. Of course, I deleted etc and was not affected.

This morning, I received another email from the Q, same type as yesterdays and it was perfectly fine.  Im nosy, so I did click on the link again and it did go to the Q.  I know I shouldnt have, but like I said Im nosy!

So just a warning. Luckily my computer protection program worked well.Im usually very careful, but I let my guard down for a minute and it could have caused a huge mess.

@meem120.  When you get something like that you should immediately report it to QVC.  That being said it sounds like a glitch in the system rather than an attempted scam.

Re: Bogus Q Email

[ Edited ]

I had several similar prehaps from my security saying the heading  could be a fraudulent site when the Q was clicked. I didn't click on the message but deleted all messages from Q and changed my preferences.
I've been getting too many of those messages anyhow and mentioned it in the comments section to Q.

Odd that you called it "letting your guard down" about something you did twice and even called yourself nosy for.  I don't think a lot of people on this board would have clicked on either link.  Everyone is on to that scam.  All you should have done was hover over the email address and you would have seen it wasn't really QVC.

@Tori3569     perhaps you misunderstood.  I let my guard down the first time I clicked on the link.  I know better of course but just did it automatically without thought. As one does occasionally. The second day I purposefully clicked on the 2nd email because I wanted to see if I got the same warning and if it was another fraudulent email. I wanted to know if my security program was doing what it's supposed to to do and if this was going to be a recurring nuisance.

I have a feeling this might be the tracker services they hire.  Similar to, "you left something in your cart" thinks that come in.  I hate those!  Really makes me angry. I have noticed QVC has a lot of tracking devices. They track what's in your cart, when you return something they have suggestions as to what you may like. This is all done by program. Shoot qvc even sends me links to review items, BEFORE I get the item!  Lol

this may be the reason for the emails, but maybe not. It's just what I have known from other sites. Nordstrom does this as well

@shoekitty   I changed my preferences due to so much tracking (and upon reading small print about third parties and security ). I can still get online to see what I'm interested without all those unsecured links.

Don't click on any link at all--no matter where it comes from especially if you feel weird about it-------just manually type in that link,  see where it goes. At least that way you will know if it is bogus or not--I just don't click ANY link--ever. But do report it to QVC---or better yet--go to CS and ask if it is legit.
