@rockygems123 Never missed a game when we played LA. Before the game Lasorda would be announced and he would strut out on the field like a peacock, arms waving in the air and throwing kisses. Husband and most Giants hated him. I loved him. All of our fans would be booing as loud as possible. I would be laughing. I detested the Dodgers like any real Giants fan. But Lasorda loved his Dodgers to his soul and spent his life promoting baseball. A true baseball man. May he rest in peace.

And Vin Scully too! Even though he announced the bums ha term for the Dodgers since the 1800's he was great.

I am a life long Yankees fan. Even though I was much younger I remember when the Giants and Dodgers moved to California from NY. There were a lot of broken hearts here!!!! I still have a place in my heart for the two teams who started out in my area but the Yanks are my number one!!!! Enjoy the Giants and I am glad you stayed true to them when you moved.

Loved Bob Uecker in the movie Major League. He was hilarious. So good in Mr. Belvedere too, in addition to his many sports accomplishments.
RIP, Mr. Uecker.

I still read newspapers, one which is the NY Daily News. On the back page, there is a photo of Uecker and it says, When it comes to beloved US sports figures, Ueck must be in the front row and in big bold letters, MR. BASEBALL!
Fans from all over loved him.

We used to go to SF Giants Spring Training camp in Scottsdale Arizona. Saw Mr. Uecker many times around the different Spring Training games and restaurants. He was a great baseball guy. RIP Bob.
We went to Scottsdale AZ SF Giants Spring Training a lot for several years during the Bruce Bochey days. So much fun!
When did you go?
@rockygems123Roger Craig was the one for me. Loved that guy and he took us through some banner years. Then there was Baker, Alou and along came Boch. He took us to our glory years. Loved him too. I mean... 3 World Series???!!! Baseball was a huge part of my husband and my lives for 40 years. After I lost my husband in 2017 I could no longer watch or even read about baseball anymore. Not any fun alone and it made me miss my baseball buddy too much. But we had a great run and I am grateful for that.
Oh that's too bad. Maybe try to sneak in a game every now and then and watch with a buddy?
When the Giants are in town I go with a Denver native friend who is of course a Rockies fan. She wears her purple and black, she bought a SF Giants T-shirt for me which I wear to the games with her, lots of fun.
My 2nd date with my deceased x-husband was a Giant's game. He was the catcher for the Berkeley baseball while in college so we were really into baseball.
When he became an ex I just replaced my game companion lol. I know it's different from your situation but I hope you can catch a game at some point.

Go Yankees! ![]()
That must have been tough when the Giants & Dodgers moved from NY. And as I have stayed true to the Giants so did my parents. They were New Yorkers and New York Giants fans. Moved to the Bay Area in the 40's and in 1958 as you know the Giants followed, yay!
Do you go to many games?

That's really a great tribute, what a well rounded guy.

Rockygems123, I lived at Yankee stadium for a long time, meaning I went to a lot of games. I took so many nieces and nephews, friend's children to games and loved every minute of it!!! I even followed them at different cities which was a lot of fun, love Fenway Park!!!! However, I am at an age now where I don't have the stamina to go to a game and sit for nine innings, but I do watch the games on TV as often as possible.
I am glad the Giants are at San Francisco, great place and Aaron Judge comes from there!!!!!!
