How often does this happen?  All the time I  lived there, never any kind of snow or ice.  According to CNN.  Already one million without power.  Also an exceptionally strong storm.  San Diego could see 3-5 feet of snow through Saturday.  That's what warming climate does.  Extreme weather. Although by the time it get's to my neck of the woods, it'll be rain.....Incredibly we might get snow!  This Saturday.  Less then an inch.  But still...

Re: Blizzard expected in L.A.

We're expecting this storm in Albuquerque on Sunday but it's not supposed to be as powerful as the one we had early this week.  Probably no snow, just high winds.

I lived in So calif for 48 years. I remember snow 2 times. Both times were in the 80's. Only lasted a day.

I can't image what a large amount of snow would be like there.  We've been in Venice Beach and it snowed about 3 or 4 years ago.   And another time it snowed while we were in Palm Desert.

ETA:  These were just dustings, not accumulated amounts.

Re: Blizzard expected in L.A.

I am guessing the snow will fall in the mountains, not the LA Basin.    I've seen snow on the mountains numerous times in the 25 years I lived there...

Re: BliAccordzzard expected in L.A.

According to multiple news sites it appears the snow will be mostly in Big Bear/Grape Vine as well as Tehatchapi and there will be a little in the High Desert. It does occasionally snow in all of these areas.  Wind is the big problem with many big rigs blowing over or stopping before they do. Unusual to a degree but not Armegadeon.

Re: Blizzard expected in L.A.

I'm guessing 3-4ft of snow in San Diego is unrealistic even for an extreme weather phenomenon.  Somebody hiccuped when he was making that prediction.

Re: Blizzard expected in L.A.

I love in San Diego and that is the prediction.  Multiple feet of snow in the mountains. School in that area has been cancelled since Tuesday.   We can see snow on the mountains from here we live near the coast.  San Diego is a big county.  On the coast we are getting rain.

@Kachina624 The newscasters are referring to our mountains in the San Diego area. Mt. Palomar and Mt. Laguna do get several inches of snow each year. They are within San Diego County.
