My first teaching job was at a Catholic school. We had an annual blessing of the animals. It was utter chaos. (and fun)

I know they do it here and generally it is held outside.

I'm never able to attend.

Same here, lulu.

It was fun, chaotic and interesting to watch the older kids with their pets. Sometimes, it was an eye opener in a good way.

I can't take all my pets at once---I alternate them every year---this year, I'm taking my old, white-faced golden retrievers---a Franciscan priest comes to bless them at the cathedral where we're members

addendum: since I can't take 3 cats at once, ( the alternating) once I took 2 and a picture of the other one---she was blessed. too

San Francisco is famous for the blessing of the animals.

SF is named for St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Animals. It's a very important day here Smile

The National Shrine in SF is just beautiful. Lit a candle and left a certain worry there.

Sometimes you get back more than you asked for.{#emotions_dlg.wub}

St. Francis of Assisi is my favorite saint along with St. Michael the Archangel. I've been to some blessings of the animals and it's a lovely experience.
