Wow, you really scored on the sweater!

birdmama, I know and at first I was not going to purchase.  Didn't need any more sweaters, but my sister talked me into it.  Of course biggest decision was what color, ended up with fushia love that color.

Re: Black Friday 2015 stories

Macy's (my favorite store) opened at 6pm last night.  My mom and I were there for opening.  It's kind of our tradition and from what I've heard from others, seems to be a tradition for them too.  The crowds were great.  We love going out then to do the shopping.  I don't go for anything in particular, I just like to have a look and see if I can find a bargain or two.  Found some great deals.  Looked like lots of families out shopping.  I think it's great that the shops open earlier.  Spreads the crowds out a bit.  Went to another mall this afternoon and no troubles there either, however, I preferred my outing last night.  I always laugh when the tv shopping hosts talk about how bad it is out there and that they have all the deals.......WRONG!

Re: Black Friday 2015 stories

DH and I have been doing Black Friday shopping for years. We've never seen anything like what the videos show. Ever. Not even close.

Today our Black Friday shopping was centered around PetSmart.

Most people line up at Best Buy.

Cat people line up at PetSmart. Woman Happy

Talked with others as we were waiting in line. Got our pails and pails (and pails)  of cat litter. Got a nice variety of cat food for the kibble crowd here at the house.

Life was good.

Re: Black Friday 2015 stories

My sister and I met this morning at 6:45 and finished up at 2:30. The mall was fine, not very crowded. Target was fairly crowded. Bed, Bath and Beyond was a zoo. They have all their merchandise packed too close together for me. We didn't stay there long.

Everyone was friendly, we got some good deals, enjoyed each other's company and had a nice, leisurely lunch. It was a great day.

[ Edited ]

My (grown) kids (and their dads entire family) went shopping from Thanksgiving night at 6 PM to 8 AM this morning. They said there were no incidents, and it wasnt overly crowded. This is in the suburbs in PA. They even drove down towards Philly to the outlets.

They never have seen any people acting up while shopping and they go every year for black Friday (now Thanksgving into black Friday).

Id go black Friday and I used to. But I dont anymore for years, because I cant hike all night like that with a bad back. I do most of my shopping online! But it has nothing to do with being worried about crowds, fighting etc.

Re: Black Friday 2015 stories

I haven't gone out on BlackFriday for years.  We used to love shopping on the day after Thanksgiving; it was a tradition and fun before retailers' greed ruined it with these big sales gimmicks and with starting on Thanksgiving.  I can't even stand hearing "black friday" anymore. This cracked me up, when I was texting someone on my iPhone, black friday was autocorrected to be capitalized (Black Friday) as if it were a holiday!!
