We even had a 70 year old woman die several days ago of West Nile. Usually people just have flu symptoms. My mother died of West Nile virus in 2003.
Oh, how awful. I am so sorry.

You should have been warned beforehand to keep your pets in the house.
Do not touch the birds -- they are full of poison. Make sure you wear gloves to pick up the dead birds.
Dispose of them in a sealed plastic bag and place them in an outside trash receptacle.

They weren't dead...they were drunk on mulberries and all finally flew away.
But thanks for the advice!

I didn't hook them up to a breathalyzer...or even poke them. When birds are on their backs with their legs up in the air....they look dead to me! They were robins...I couldn't figure out how to do CPR.
I assumed yesterday that the groundskeeper had picked them up and thrown them out (or called to have them tested).

Weird... you should contact animal control. They say birds fly themselves into homes when there is a possession... but I doubt that is your trouble.

Some posters may disagree with you...but they were too polite to point it out!
