I am a member of the Audubon Society, and I always keep up with bird news.  Birds are an important and valuable member of our ecosystem!  I also have pet parakeets and the flu can be just as deadly to them if they were to catch it.

There does not seem to be a way to stop the flu, or a vaccine to prevent it.

Last year there was a disease that was affecting our wonderful song birds. I feel very sad for all the poultry farmers who have had to destroy their flocks due to the infection rates.  When prices for chicken and turkey go sky high, then perhaps more people will feel a bit more sympathetic to the needs of birds.

Around here all the local egg folks are asking us to be very aware of the history on the soles of our boots.  We have geese migrating and filling fields.

Good grief!  If its not one thing, its another.  What'll we do if we can't eat chicken and can't afford beef?  Beans 3X a day?

@Kachina624   It would take the "pressure" off blaming the cows.
