Bindi Irwin, 21, and Chandler Powell, 23, are broadcasting their 'wedding story' on Animal Planet this weekend in the U.S.

And never-before-seen photos from the newlyweds' wedding album have now been released ahead of the one-hour TV special - Crikey! It’s the Irwins: Bindi’s Wedding.

Bindi and her professional wakeboarder husband tied the knot at Australia Zoo, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, on March 25.

Bindi and Chandler moved their original date, set for April 4, to a fast-tracked ceremony in March.

They got married at the family zoo - just hours after Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced new restrictions on weddings due to the coronavirus pandemic, with only five people allowed to attend.

Bindi and Chandler chose a very unusual tree-inspired cake for their surprise wedding.

Bindi has now revealed revealed the heartwarming reason they selected the unique creation instead of something more traditional.

Speaking to People magazine this month, the Wildlife Warrior said the cake symbolises conservationalism of nature, a cause very close to hear heart.

'The cake would have passed for a tree trunk. Conservation is who we are. It's not just what we do. We love it. It's our life,' Bindi said, adding that the cake fit their big day perfectly.

The stunning wedding cake was made from four tiers, each decorated to look like different types of bark.

The bespoke creation was decorated with pink and white roses, which sat on the bottom tier of the cake.

Bindi and Chandler also chose vanilla and strawberry for the cake's flavours to pay homage to Chandler's Florida roots.

In October last year, Bindi shared a glimpse inside her her wedding cake tasting session.

The newlyweds lit a single candle at the altar in Steve's memory after making their union official.

The TV special will feature special moments between the couple and their family, including Bindi's younger brother Robert, 16, walking her down the aisle.

Robert wrote on his own Instagram page: 'I was beyond honoured to get to walk Bindi down the aisle today... I know that dad was with us, and we are all so delighted for your future as husband and wife. I love you both.'

Bindi revealed to People magazine that her elegant wedding gown was a tribute to her mother Terri's wedding dress, from when she married Crocodile Hunter Steve in 1992.

'I wanted something very similar because I've admired [my mum's] dress since I was tiny,' Bindi said.

Bindi recalled putting on her mother's wedding gown when she was 12 and falling in love with it.

The blonde beauty wasn't able to wear the same dress or have it altered because it was already 50 years old.
