Did you forego a wedding celebration and instead donate the money that would have been spent on a wedding to a charity. Did you tell your kids you wouldn't help pay for their weddings and donated that money to a charity instead? If not, by your own logic your expenditures were equally as obscene as the money spent on the celebration certainly could have been better spent.

I don't understand people who believe they can dictate how others spend their money.

I’m sure he had to bargain with Italian officials in Venice in order to have this circus there. They rely on tourism for their economy in Venice but they really don’t enjoy excess tourism.

Just think of the good he could've done in this country with that garish wedding he spent $50 million on. Selfish at its finest. Makes me not want to order from Amazon anymore.

I never understand this reasoning. First, we don't know how much philanthropy he does. Not everyone makes it public. Second, it is his money he can spend it how he sees fit.

Yes he can spend his money any way he wants to but it doesn't need to be an in your face affair.  They could have had a little grace and class.

@Stray I read where Bezos asked their guests in lieu of a wedding gift, to please donate to Venice.

I haven't read any of the replies but I would think that they ask that no gifts be given.

I can't even imagine why some of the guests accepted.  Without mentioning names, there are people there who I would have expected to have better taste than to join this ship of fools.

Appears to be some protesting from some of the Italians this week.

A Jeff Bezos look a like dummy is floating in the Grand Canal in front of Rialto bridge as sign of protestation ahead of Jeff Bezos wedding in Venice on June, 24, 2025.
