@RespectLife, the combo label can, of course, be used for home pickup by one’s USPS mail carrier. However, I have had problems with (1) packages being picked up but never reaching their destination, (2) packages left at my condo building’s mail pickup/delivery area “disappearing,” stolen by persons unknown, and, alarmingly, (3) packages picked up by the mail carrier in my building and not being scanned. Deliberate? Looks that way.

Regarding the latter, last summer I left a prelabeled package addressed to a retailer containing $700 worth of clothing at my pickup area. I am certain my carrier picked it up. However, it was never scanned, so it could not be tracked nor could I get reimbursed. I even tried making a theft claim with USPS but got nowhere. Without a scan, the tracking number was useless. So be warned.

I only use UPS if that is the only way an item can be returned. A trip to the UPS store is a huge hassle for me and must be done on a weekend. Ugh.

I do almost all of my shopping online, including jewelry. I still leave inexpensive packages in my building for carrier pickup. However, packages containing jewelry are taken to my office where they have fewer chances to go astray. And after several incidences of jewelry being picked up at my home (I live way up in the hills and going to the post office is a great inconvenience) but never making it down the hill to the local post office to continue their journey, I quit leaving those packages for home pickup.

@catwoman48

I'm sorry to hear you have had issues doing return pickups.

Possibly because of how your condo makes you place them in a certain spot.

I have been stuffing them in my mailbox for eons!  I always get the email confirmations.

Seems your mail carriers are less than honest and not very diligent doing their job.

That's a shame.

I get an email confirmation for the pickup.  I would use that as my proof even if he/she didn't scan it when they took it.

It was scheduled!!

Issues can always arise, but I have always known QVC to correct them.

I just returned an item.  Got stuck in GA.  Called Q, gave them the tracking number and they instantly credited me.  Even UPS put in the comments to initiate a credit because the package was lost.  I guess UPS is no guarantee of better service.

when I return to QVC, I ALWAYS print the stuff off their web site----just easier. I keep the enclosed label to document it all. Sometimes there is no label inside---

@geezerette no you don't have to cut the label. In fact OP should not have cut the label, just used it as it was. I have used these types of labels many times. Each shipper knows what to scan. Ex: UPS knows what to scan if you use their service and USPS knows what to scan if you use their service.

@DJs mom I agree with you on not cutting the label, but UPS won't take QVC pre-paid return labels.

@NYCLatinaMe I have taken these labels to UPS and returned QVC items and they were scanned and I was given a receipt.

UPS won't take the package with a QVC label from customers.  Leave label as is and use USPS.

@NYCLatinaMe.  Must be a local thing because I've done it frequently.

Scan the QR code.

@Kachina624  I think they would taken it if I paid for the shipping.  But I wanted to use the prepaid label.

@geezerette I have not ever cut mine and they can be confusing but what is interesting is that even though both might be listed on the label the USPS cannot take UPS but UPS can take them even if for the USPS.  The only issue with that is if you want a receipt UPS cannot get generate a receipt with the USPS scanning code.  Somehow all of my returns end up where they should and credit given. Sorry that the original poster ran into this.  BUT also know that a lot of places today no longer have individual boxes in the front of their houses.  We have a community type of cluster of boxes that you cannot have USPS pick up.

@Seminole2  My UPS office won't take the prepaid QVC return label.  They said it is a USPS label, even though there is a UPS section in the label with a tracking number.

I wonder if it's the specific UPS office you're going to @NYCLatinaMe .  I've used the labels many times at UPS offices and the mail type places in the city, the Bronx and Westchester.  Don't cut the label just drop it off.

Hi @Tori3569  I think UPS would take the package if I pay for the shipping.  I think they'll take any return, and happily wrap it and ship it and charge me for it.  Same with those independent mailing businesses which now have disappeared from my neighborhood.  But UPS won't take the prepaid QVC label with both USPS and UPS tracking on the label.

@DJs mom Not where I am.  As I wrote elsewhere, UPS would probably accept if I paid for the shipping, but they would not accept the QVC prepaid label with both USPS, UPS tracking numbers.

Many of you are able to have the USPS mail carrier pick up packages, but that is not my experience in the high density pouplation places I have lived in NYC.

The carrier will not take mail back.  They tell me to take it to the mailbox or post office.

I guess I can arrange for a pick-up.  I have never tried that, so not sure whether they would charge.  I would guess they would.

@NYCLatinaMe.  When I used the QR code, ups makes the label and wraps it but I was just charged the standard $6.95 which was deducted from my refund.

I had to make a return last month and had no trouble with UPS accepting the Q's pre-paid return label.
