I always have the "surprises" sent to my office.    I can then leave it in my trunk until I can sneak it into the house.

Personally, I think indicating contents when it's a device could be an invitation to steal .....  but perhaps it's done on purpose as another way to advertise the brand as it makes its way to the recipient.

Until - I put the box on top of my trash can at work. YES - you guessed it. I forgot the box was there and the cleaning people threw it out.

I had a large L shaped desk and used much of it. I kept kicking the box as I was working and I didn't want to put the box near where I walked or if people were visiting me, where they would sit. And I used the long file cabinet too often to have to keep moving a box.

I read the entire description of the item on HSN and it was not listed it came directly from the manufacturer.

I will be on the lookout for boxes coming "directly from manufacturer" in the description.

My husband is playing with his "new gift" as I type.
