I didn't see the red carpet show, so I don't know if she changed or not. The dress I saw was a l/s gown and it looked on the brown side to me.....and had vertical stripes and a wide black waist band. It was very becoming on her. And, I thought it was very appropriate to wear for the song she sang.

I cry every time I hear that song.......and every time I see that movie.....it was so touching about a beautiful friendship between 2 women......

I also like the way she had her hair fixed. Very becoming on her.

Yes, preshow on the red carpet she was wearing a straight red flocked gown, totally different gown when she sang.

On the Red Carpet one of the interviewers (Kathie Lee maybe) asked Ms Midler about a comment she'd made about women over a certain age showing cleavage. She said her girls hadn't been out in a long time and she was taking them for a walk.

I thought her Red Carpet dress was more flattering. She looked slim and trim while the one she wore when she sang was frumpy.

I love Bette Midler and she was absolutely fantastic last night. Her voice is still perfection, and she looked gorgeous in that dress. Of course I was crying at the end of that song, one of my all time favorites, second only to the Rose. I met Bette Midler many years ago when I was walking to work in the Wall Street area. She was pulling up in a limo on Water Street and was just getting out when I was walking by. I could not resist and I went over to her and just said "I don't want to intrude Ms. Midler but I have to say I am one of your biggest fans, you are an amazing talent and just wanted to say hi". Well, I did not know what to expect but she was as kind, gracious and lovely as she appears to be. She gave me a great big smile and shook my hand and thanked me. Then I went on my way. She was going into my building where there were some law firms. I always remembed that day. Also saw her sing live many times and always bring a big pack of tissues.

Yes but I did not like what she was wearing...........she is so beautiful.
