When I grew up in Brooklyn, my neighbor was Bonnie Fishman. We were kids at the time. My family than moved away and a few years later, my mom and I moved to southern Calif. 13 years ago, I went on a website and found her with the married last name Bruckheimer. That last name sounded familiar from t.v., and I asked my friend who he was. My friend said, that's Jerry Bruckheimer, a Producer. I then emailed Bonnie, and she called me on the phone. We hadn't seen each other in over 40 years. She told me that she was married to Jerry B at one time -- and she's a Producer and partner of Bette Midler. Her name is on all the Bette Midler movies, and she was also involved with Bette's club performances, etc. Bonnie has been living in the San Fernando Valley (CA) for many years - and in the early 1970s, I lived 10 minutes away. I thought she would want to meet with me -- but she wasn't interested. She lives in a different world.

Oh, wow...I hadn't seen her on the red carpet in this dress, either! That is classy and gorgeous.

Putting myself in her shoes, I know I wouldn't be able to lift my arms or wave them the way she did (like at the end, where she was waving her arm like a "wing") without a LOT of underarm jiggle....one of my most self-conscious body parts, even though I'm fairly thin. That would cause ME to change into a dress with sleeves, LOL. Just a thought. Since she was nervous, anyway, for her first vocal performance at an Academy Awards show, maybe she wanted to wear something that she felt more comfortable and less vulnerable in, although looking like a million bucks (the way she does in this red & white dress) would make one feel pretty comfortable!! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

She wore the red dress while interviewed on the red carpet, she did not mention that she would be changing. I was shocked when she came out to sing in the other dress.

You were shocked?

I wasn't shocked, but I thought she looked fabu in that red dress she wore on the red carpet. I didn't really understand why she didn't perform wearing it.

I think she changed into a less VaVaVaVoom dress to sing because it was the In Memoriam honors.

Ah, well, that makes sense.

She looked great in the performance dress, too.

Bette could wear a burlap sack and look beautiful and classy.

She is in her late 60s, as were many of the women on the show. If she's had any work done, you sure can't tell. Her figure is beautiful and her skin is flawless.

I believe she is as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. She created the New York Restoration Project, and is an avid environmentalist and community activist for the betterment of NYC. She's got a huge heart and I just adore her!

Yay Bette! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}
