Just wondering if the Bethlehem Lights product specialist reads these posts? I really like the new LED technology Bethlehem has been releasing. And, over the past several years have purchased several LED lit trees. In the past I've pretty much bought only the BL incandescent lit trees (for over 15 yrs) Last year I bought the fairy/micro light 3-in-1 7ft with bag. It's a beautiful tree, 18 light options including their new sparkle. I bought the flocked and have to hand it to BL - that flock drops minimal flocking if any at all. The theme this year for that flocked tree was pastel blue/pink ball ornament and the pastel sparkle option as well as wired chiffon ribbon. I was going for the ethereal winter look reminiscent of my childhood growing up in Minnesota. Our trees following a heavy snow with the next day's bright sunlight transpformed all that snow into a crystal frosted effect and BL replicates that in their flocking. The pastel tree was beautiful - almost magical and received lots of compliments. Now that the holiday is over I sat looking at that tree sipping my coffee flipping through the color options and light functions. Amazingly the tree decorated in pastel balls, actually looked great with the multi color. Then I realized the multi color looked great on the flocked pastel theme because the multi colors of the purple, yellow, orange and pink LEDs. The more I looked at that tree the more it resembled memories of Chinese New Year...and then I remembered why I bought incandescent multi colored trees from BL. Unfortunately if you want light functions other than steady or twinkle LED is your other option. BL used to offer LED lights that were jewel tones that were more traditional - classic red, green, blue yellow and white. Now BL multi colors are either 7 or 9 jewel tones... I plan a different theme for our Christmas decor and tree each year and have already decided on rich red and gold - tree and room decor. That way I can take advantage of sales for items needing to be replaced or a new one to compliment my trove of decorations. That all brings me to a dilemma. Because of the ever increasing electric rates and the costs to run an incandescent tree Thanksgiving to New years, I've been slowly donating my incandescent trees and was planning to add a blue spruce tree this next CIJ/holiday season and with the red/gold theme I just couldn't imagine memories of Chinese New Year everytime I'd look at the tree. I really want to replace our multi color incandescent and can't stomach shelling out $500-600 on a blue spruce with BL's current "jewel tone" colors. If QVC pays attention to these posts, can you get a request over to Bethlehem lights to reconsider the purple, yellow and orange colors in the multi scheme on at least one color combo on LED trees that omit them? I don't mind the bright clear colors, but come on folks purple, yellow and orange are not what I consider traditional classic Christmas colors.
I've added two photos illustrating the pastel and multi. The pastel colors are very delicate and don't show up quite so vivid( the pastel lights are nearly washed out in photos), but you'll see the multi almost passing as a bold pastel. What do folks think about a BL return to traditional classic Christmas colors?

I prefer warm white and incandescent multi-color lights. We have two pre-lit trees; this year the multi one is in our living room, and the white one is in the lower level. That's the extent of what I do.

But gee, Christmas 2023 cost me a little over $200 additional on my electric bill Thanksgiving to New Years. I've already replaced outdoor lights to all LED for that same reason. But look at the LED multi in the pic I just posted. Don't they actually look like a bold pastel and not traditional classic multi colors like incandesent?

I know there are technologies to produce LED lights that have a very similar "glow" as incandesccent. In fact I found these when shopping Christmas this past fall. By the time I got around to buying several pkgs, they were unavailable. My first thought was a lot of people must be like me looking for better LEd alternatives - then the thought hit me what if one of the leading light companies bought up the company and patent and plan to tuck them in a drawer never to be seen again or worse yet, want to market them for exorbitant prices... Either way I doubt we'll be seeing themanytime soon on a prelit Christmas tree...
"VintaGlow
Search Amazon for "VintaGlow Christmas Lights" It's more about how the eye perceives color. Our world with the aid of the sun's whtie light is known as "spectrum" light because it's based on radiation wave lengths. That's why the digital LED light looks so harsh to us and the Christmas lights look so phony. This video explains why so many of us reject LED lights and why incandescent lights actually do cast light with a warm cozy feeling.
