@Jordan2 @ Have you heard of Cooper Street. They have Granola Bakes that are loaded with fruit and grains. They have real ingredients, peanut free, tree nut free, dairy free soy free and low sodium. They are women owned and made in the USA. They are only 110 calories. They are 1 ounce bars. They are very good. They come in a bag with three different varieties: Chocolate Cherry, Banana Bread and Oatmeal Cranberry.

When searching for a protein alternative, it was suggested that, when looking at the nutritional information, if you add a zero to the end of the grams of protein, the calories should be about that number or only a little bit more.  I have tried the David bars (sold at Target) and they have 28 gr of protein and 150 calories. They are not the best tasting, but they do the trick.  Also Quest bars have about 21 gr of protein for about 190 calories depending on the flavor.  These 2 are among the highest protein ones I have found with the least calories.  I prefer the Quest ones more, but still are not great.  I only use these in a pinch to supplement needed protein when my meals did not contain enough.

@Jordan2

MANY protein bars can be very high in sugar and carbs.

I buy IQ bars....protein and low carbs!

Your typical protein bar:

Sugar 15g

Net carbs 20g

Animal protein 12g

Fiber 4g

Calories 210

IQ Bars

Sugar 1-2g

Net carbs 2-3g

PLANT Protein  12g

Fiber 6-9 g

Calories 160-180

NO, I don't work for them, LOL

I wanted to find a protein bar that wasn't loaded with sugar and carbs.

So many flavors, all great.

@RespectLife I just ordered a 12 pack sampler of IQBARS, I also bought a small box of DAVID'S Bars, and a small box of STARS & HONEY, hopefully I find one I like.

Good luck @Jordan2

It took me several tries and brands to find one that hit my goals and tastes.

IQ is majority owned by its founder and devloper.  A young guy, small company.

I order direct because they have free shipping and discounts the more you order.

I have now seen them at Walmart as well.

So far, only 1 flavor I didn't care for...surprisingly Pumpkin Spice !   LOL

I work as a Teacher's Aide in a school. I get 30 minutes for lunch which is not enough time to really eat anything ( the lunch is more like 20-25 minutes). About three days a week I have a banana and a yogurt, the other two days I'll have a protein bar. I have only tried Aloha Bars so far, I'm not crazy about them. Can anyone recommend a protein bar they like that tastes good?

@Jordan2   Nuts work very well.  I sometimes eat them for lunch, or anytime, and they are very filling, and protein, I especially like almonds, either salted, smokehouse, or vinegar and salt, other flavors available.  I get Diamond at amazon.

Of course, most nuts are good for one, peanuts is another favorite of mine, good for the brain, and I definitely need brain food, lol.

Good protein bars are hard to come by.

Why not try a Premier Protein shake?  30 grams of protein, 160 calories, low sugar content, and a variety of interesting flavors.

Of course, there are many brands of shakes, but I'm recommending my personal favorite.

@Tinkrbl44 I'll add a word of caution:  Most of them have artificial sweeteners, which set off migraine headaches for me.  Just a note to anyone else who suffers from these.  I have to be really careful these days because they are in so much!

@Tinkrbl44.  I drink a Premier Protein every day with a light lunch.  However, I must say if I dink one with no food they do nothing to make me feel less hungry.

@Kachina624   @Jordan2

I think all protein drinks are supplements, NOT meal replacements.

One of Premier's best benefits, IMO, is that each shake has 50% of our daily calcium ... 650mg.

I like Raw Rev Glo protein bars. They're plant based, vegan, gluten free and made from natural ingredients. Avoiding excess calories, bad fats, and highly processed sugars are important deciding factors for me.

They're slightly oily to the touch from the natural nut butter and lack of processing, but delicious.  4 WW points per bar.
