Start of Legionaires disease due to the cooling system? I think that is what they are saying and now it is the Hyatt at Belview or Bellview............it is pretty and it opened on 1904 and the lighting was designed by Thomas Eddison.........who has been in this hotel? Also I am watching this on Hotel Secrets on Travel Channel.

There's a lot of info about the Bellevue (originally the Bellevue Stratford) on wiki. I was there once...for my Senior Prom. It was very elegant.

I have been to this hotel several times. It's beautiful. When I was working our company had several functions there which were excellent, the rooms are really nice and the food is wonderful. But best of all is the atmosphere. The building is historic located in center city Philadelphia, it still has all the charm of the old days along with the old fashion service.

There are always high end functions going on there. As a hotel, it's great but pricey as you might expect.

Attended a very formal and elegant wedding reception there years ago. Women wore long gowns, strolling violinists during the cocktail hour, and waiters who wore half gloves when serving. Oh yes, there was an orchestra alternating with a small combo. I vaguely remember doves being released too. Once in a lifetime....
