@rockygems123  - I live in the East Bay, just south of Oakland.  I'm near the Bay.  I can sit at the park and watch the planes come in for landing at OAK airport.

East Bay was my sister's favorite place to live. She was in the Oakland hills when she moved to Tucson and she misses it.

@weez1987 and beauty friends, stay safe and warm. Fingers crossed the power stays on for both of us. We are getting really big gusts now, so far we have 11 inches and its no where near done. I am an hour north of NYC.

Definitely everyone stay safe and keep power on!

It missed us by a hair, but our coast may get snow...as of last night's report. I'm getting ready to check the weather channel now. We have friends on the coast.

The country sure has taken a beating with blizzards, avalanches, fires, floods, tornadoes, etc. 

The last snow storm we had, the weather people said to keep shades, drapes, curtains (whatever window coverings) closed to keep heat in just in case power is an issue.

Check in if possible so we know you're OK.
