Thanks all for your responses 😀
QUICK UPDATE
My daughter just told me that's a hack going around and like a lot of other stuff...it isn't true. As a few of you said, due to the potential for listeria and other pathogens. So ok out of the H2O they will come and into the crisper. She said to me you never fall for stuff like that because you are pretty savvy with health information...what ever made you think it was ok... oh I dunno sounded reasonable 🤦🏻♀️
Keep in mind, that bacteria and spoilage can happen with any storage method. The part that's a potential problem with the water storage is that some claimed the avocados will keep fresh for a month or more. That part is not true, I never do that. When I buy avocados, they're in the water for a week or so because I'm using them quickly. I've been doing this for a couple of years and never had a problem.

Avocados can have pathogens like salmonella and listeria on their surface.
I buy the mini ones. That way they can be eaten in one sitting.
I keep them in the refrigerator and take them out and put them on the counter, one at a time, a day or two before using. 🥑

I oodo the same. Two weeks ago, I brought a bag of 8 from Costco and they are beautiful, but still hard. I will give it another week and if still hard, I will return.

@bmorechick Hi! After I read this I went to the grocery store and bought avocado, and the seasoning. I already had lime juice. I am working at my desk and had avocado! It was delicious. I text a few coworker and we had a zoom call and many said they were going to try avocado with the seasoning. Thank You!!

@Shelbelle wrote:They turn brown almost instantly. You can make a ton of guac, but then that will also turn brown
If you stir up your guac it turns green again.

@Franklinbell I can't take credit for the everything bagel seasoning. That was from a post I read from @monicakm . I was using just salt and lime but had that on hand and tried it and yep...took it up a notch!

Has anyone ever made avacado soup? I hear it's good. Barbra Streisand says it's her favorite.
