@Momofdogs

I bought these GAP barrel jeans in black at Sam's Club a few months ago.  Now looking at other barrel jeans these seem to be a more modified version and they look and feel just fine.  Really comfy, all cotton I believe:

Re: Barrel Pants

[ Edited ]

I just purchased Susan Graver denim barely barrel ankle jeans and the leg shape is very similar to the GAP barrel pants at Sam's shown above.

I'm somewhat tall, 5'7", pear-shaped (thunder-thighs) and the SG pants fit me perfectly with no pulling across the crotch like every other jean that is too snug at the top of the thigh.

If you're short, I think barrel pants could end up looking like sponge bob square pants if the pant leg is too wide.

I have many pair.... I have bought them for a few years .  I think barrel pants or barrel cut is a newly coined phrase. They called them something else a while back. I only like the modified ones made from much softer fabric. The denim jeans shown on this thread are a little stiff IMO.  When the material is stiff they might appear more exaggerated  and riding crop style. lol. I am 78, 5'2" inches , and wear a small/medium pant.  I don't think if the material was soft,and the cut less exaggerated it makes a short/heavier person appear heavier.  I think if chosen properly they can be slimming on a heavy lerson

They are already going out of style. They were not embraced by many probably because they really are not attractive on most figures. Wide leg, flared

 and skinny will be what you will see most wearing in the Fall.

For me, they will nver go out of style.  There are some that are severe but the moderate I got at Target are so comphy and cute.  The top fits high wasted and fit the botton with nice darts and moderate fullness.  I have 4 pair.  Wish I had more.  When I wear I get so many commpliments.

I'm totally NOT a fashionista, nor have I ever been, so I guess I'm not surprised that I've never heard of these.

The ones in the first pic (blue) don't even appeal to me at all.  The ones in the second pic (green), except for the color and a bit too short, look nicer though.

I'm old now.  I don't buy clothes or shoes or any of that anymore but it's fun to see what people are wearing these days.  Smiley Happy
