It's pretty clear who they are.

That is so sweet. It is so nice to hear that. They are grown-ups, that's why.

If it were clear TO ME, I would not have asked.

Snark attack

.....I had no idea who the op was talking about either.

I just love that Bill and George care so much for each other. I feel it's very, very possible to love and enjoy someone even if you are opposites politically. You just agree to disagree, and enjoy the other things about the person.

When George leaves this earth, I think Bill will bawl like a baby. I think George really is the father that Bill never had, and I'm so glad for that.

I saw that interview this morning. She also made in clear, more than once, they don't agree with Bill's politics.

That's because mature adults on either side of the aisle know enough to respect their opposition as human beings with hearts and minds and independent thoughts. The present lack of respect in our country from all sides has caused a lot more damage than many people realize.

Amen, violann! A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.....there was a time where you could have a friend or even (gasp!) a family member with opposite political leanings, and still get along (I know I did.) The Bush's and Clintons are an exemplary illustration. There is no 'us' and 'they'--there is only "we". Until all sides realize this, we will not get any better, as a nation or as human beings.

I have friends and family members with very different political leanings, yet we still are very civil (even loving) toward each other. I think most people in this country are. However, it's the narrow-minded ideologues on the radio who try to divide us into "us" and "them" that make it seem like we can't get along with those who disagree. For them, it's good (those who agree) versus evil (those who don't).

This is true, Writertoo, and I do, too. I didn't mean for the comment to be taken literally, but I have noticed that in general people seem to align themselves with like-minded thinkers more so today. I was making the point, alluding to this particular venue (the boards) since we are responding here. I have to say, I don't encounter the combative discourse I see here, in real life. I hope it's not representative of the country as a whole, but find it very disturbing, and fear that it is.

Maybe their politics and general world views are not so different in their hearts. We only know what they all say in public.

I feel smart Wink {#emotions_dlg.w00t} . I knew right away who Barbara, Bill, and NP were - I somehow became a quick study on how to decrypt many threads on this forum!

By some miracle I too knew who the thread was about. I usually don't know what's going on around here, so it is surprising that one got through my dense skull.

Did anyone else have a teacher tell them in elementary school "there are no dumb questions".

I did. I guess that was before the internet where so many are willing to tell you how dumb you are, lol.

Yes, I did...she used to say there were no dumb questions but the potential for dumb answers was high.

always had teachers that said that "there were no dumb questions" and always had teachers that said "participation is important, so raise your hand and answer the question, even if your answer is wrong people can learn from it."

My favorite nunism (went to Catholic Schools) was their answer when you asked how to spell a word - 'look it up in the dictionary' . . .
