not a word, but a phrase .............. "it is what it is". I know it all depends on what is is

If I hear the word "multitasking" one more time, I may scream! It's been way over-used for the last few years, as though it's something new and wonderful that very smart people have learned to do. I'm sure there are lots of people here who were multi-tasking back in the 50's, 60's, 70's, etc..... they just didn't have a fancy word for it! If you were working, going to school, raising a family, etc., you were "multitasking"!

efficacious -- just say effective.
Butthurt -- so sick of seeing/hearing this.

I'm tired of hearing "awesome" and "organic" - wish these could be banished!

Furbaby! The word provokes an involuntary shudder every time I hear it or read it!

I'm sorry, but I can't imagine why the term "furbaby" would be bad, but of course, that is just my opinion. As an animal lover, especially dogs and cats, I use the term quite often. They are my "babies" and they have fur. Even the "abhorrent" Urban Dictionary has the same meaning as the others.
Oxford Dictionary-
noun
informal
noun: furbaby - a person's dog, cat, or other furry pet animal.
Urban Dictionary -- Furbaby - A term that one refers to their pet if it contains
hair or fur .

Furbaby brings to my mind those creepy little dolls with porcelain faces and furry bodies. I cannot stand the word and I, too, am an animal lover who has shared my life with some amazing little animals.
I still can't abide the word furbaby. I'm sure perfectly nice people use the term. It just makes me cringe.

"having said that" is one I hear all too often. I'm tired of it!!

Hi Kittymom! Nice seein' ya, BTW. ![]()
While I don't happen to use the term 'furbaby', it doesn't bother me in the least.
But one thing that does kind of make me cringe (since we're venting
) is when people refer to their dog or cat's hair as 'fur'. It's HAIR!
Ok, got that off my (not-hairy) chest. ![]()

Good to see you, too, chickenbutt! It's been a while. It's actually kind of funny, the term furbaby, isn't it? When I talk about my animals "outer covering", I always call it hair, but I still use the term "furbaby"... maybe it would just sound even more strange to say "hairbaby"??? Although I did just refer to my babies as having "fur", didn't I? Oh well, my mind hasn't been in gear all day!!!
