@katie1859 Why is this strange? It would have to be named after someone🤷🏾‍♀️. Why on earth would it be renamed? There's also a Key bridge in DC - VA.

I agree with @Love to Run.  Don't understand what is strange about it, and why would it be renamed?

@katie1859   What's strange about it?  The Star Spangled banner was written by Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry in the Patapsco River.  Fort McHenry is in Baltimore. It overlooks the inner Harbor. There are many things in Baltimore that pay tribute to Francis Scott Key...the Key bridge, Key Highway, Francis Scott Key monument.   🤷🏻‍♀️

Hazardous materials stored in 56 containers on cargo ship.

A senior hazmat investigator from the National Transportation Safety Board looked at the cargo and cargo manifest, identifying 56 containers of hazardous material, according to NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy.

"He was able to identify 56 containers of hazardous materials. That's 764 tons of hazardous materials — mostly corrosives, flammables, and some miscellaneous hazardous materials, class 9 hazardous materials, which would include lithium ion batteries," she said at a news briefing.

Some of the hazmat containers "were breached," she said, adding that sheen was seen on the waterway.

The ship's path before the collision into Baltimore Key Bridge.

The Coast Guard and the Army Corps of Engineers will lead cleanup efforts

Once the wreck is cleared, the divers will continue their efforts to retrieve the bodies.

Dozens of containers onboard the cargo ship that toppled the Baltimore Key Bridge have hazardous materials inside, Coast Guard officials said Wednesday.

official stressed that there is "no threat to the public" as most of the potentially dangerous containers were unaffected by the collision

It was so heart-breaking that two fatalities have been recovered, with four still missing.  Those workers had a very hard job.

Praying for the families of Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, and the other four men who are missing.

Regarding hazardous materials, anything containing a rechargeable battery is considered a hazardous material these days. That designation doesn't mean a lot. A lot of the things in your house that you use daily would be labeled as a "hazardous material" in shipment.

As to the "sheen" on the water, don't forget a number of vehicles fell into the river. They all contained motor oil, fuel, and assorted other lubricants that would be leaching into the water now and creating the sheen. A gallon of engine oil will spread out quite a bit on the water surface and look very impressive. Oil and fuel are lighter than the water, and will float and form a very thin layer creating the sheen. It's likely that sheen is coming from the liquids leaking from the submerged vehicles.

@katie1859 Key wrote a poem, not the anthem. It was later set to a tune by John Stafford Smith (The Anacreontic Song) and officially adopted as our national anthem in 1931, although it was already being sung by citizens in various venues.

The music had been used by two other poets, btw.
