I don't buy bags, either.  I'm just too food-picky to not be able to scrutinize the entirety of what I'm purchasing.

I was saying this in another thread here, the other day, as others have mentioned here, that it seems like stuff like potatoes and apples just don't stay fresh as long as they used to.

I only buy potatoes when I know they are going to be prepared within a couple of days this time of year, and even less time in the hotter times.

I LOVE potatoes!  Smiley Happy   I just made a batch of mashed potatoes that I put into 1 and 2 serving size L&L containers, froze, then popped out and vacuum sealed.  Six potatoes made 9 servings for me, plus I had some asiago I wanted to use up.

I also love sweet potatoes, but only the ones I consider sweet potatoes and not yams - the ones with the light skin and the really light, blonde you could say, flesh.  I either make mashers with those (just with asiago also,  butter, and s&p) or baked (served with just butter and s&p).

I could probably eat any potato type thing that I enjoy day after day where as I normally cannot eat the same thing over and over - well, that or Mexican food.  Smiley Happy

HI @chickenbutt  Smiley Happy

Apparently those we get in our markets are all sweet potatoes.  I put up a report from a sweet potato organization a couple of pages back.

Thanks, Noel!  Smiley Happy  Hope this finds you well today.  I'm having some challenges but trying to get with it and not hide out and lay around.  hehe - sometimes it's easier than other times.

Everything in moderation is good.  Baked potato has a lot of potassium that is good for your heart. But potato is really high in glycemic and known to elevate and inflammatory process, like arthritis in people. I switched too to sweet potato. But whenever , not too often , eating out I eat regular potato. In fact, I will be in France in June and I will eat a lot of fried young potato, it will be in season. Yummm

For people with sensitivities not everything is good even in moderation. I agree about switching to sweet potatoes for some.....I haven't tried yet.
