Backordeed items

How long does it usually take to get a back ordered item? I have an item due to be delivered on the 24th. It wasnt delivered. so I checked and as of today they posted Backordered.  also for the second time  my order (a different item I recieved with no info for return , no envelope, no nothing except the box and the item inside. Nothing on the box on the outside either. Is anyone else receiving items like this?
