Back to Winter in the Mid-Atlantic

Beautiful day today! Everyone was out and about. DH and I decided to have dinner at one of our favorite outdoor places. We went early around 5 because I was worried we wouldn't get in. It was 77 degrees while we were eating. And it was beautiful. I happily wore capris, sandals and a short sleeve T-shirt.

Shortly after we got home and I was walking through the back, I heard the wind blowing. Apparently the temperature was dropping too.

Now it's 42. It's supposed to be a high of 39 tomorrow evening. If I don't want my legs to freeze I'll have to go back to long pants and boots. Smiley Sad

wow @beach-mom i am in the mid-atlantic also, but we are still hanging on to warm temps right now. it is 69 degrees and all of my windows are still open at almost midnight. my thermometer hit the high 80s today.

i think our high tomorrow is going to hover around 60 degrees which is perfect spring weather. it is supposed to rain also, which should help the grass. nighttime it is supposed to be around 51.

Re: Back to Winter in the Mid-Atlantic

I just came back from south Florida on Friday to wonderful warm weather here!  It was in the 80s and even 90s (for a few days) down there but today up in PA it was beautiful!

I'm hoping that I don't have to break out my winter coat again!

Re: Back to Winter in the Mid-Atlantic

Thursday it was 77° here but a cold front moved in overnight and we actually got a dusting of snow, after not having had a single flake all winter.  For 3 days and 2 nights we've had terrific winds which have resulted in a bunch of wildfires around the state.  One in the East, extending into Texas, has burned over 60,000 acres of grassland.  Another big fire was caused by the US Forest Service which decided to do a controlled burn, with big winds having been predicted.  Theyre working on a written excuse.

Re: Back to Winter in the Mid-Atlantic

It hit 80 here in Ohio on Friday and yesterday it was so humid in the house that I wanted hubby to turn on the air. Within an hour the front passed through and I was closing windows and putting on a sweater....LOL

Such is the weather this time of year here...

It is cold here too. Goodness, the wind, the wind. After walking my dogs last night, wearing a heavy coat I came in and was honestly wishing I had a snow suit.

The wind just cuts right through. If its that bad today, I will be wearing thermals underneath my jeans. Hideous.

Re: Back to Winter in the Mid-Atlantic

We went to bed Friday night with the bedroom windows wide open, put shorts on when I got dressed yesterday and by around 3PM I had to start closing all the windows because of the dropping temps and the wind.

This morning the heat came on!

I guess it's back to long pants and socks for today.

Re: Back to Winter in the Mid-Atlantic

Southern WV is 64 degrees, overcast with light rain.   We are expecting heavy rain this afternoon, with an inch expected by dark.  Temps are to fall into the low 30’s tonight with possibility of light snow flurries.
