So many posters on here complain about everything under the sun with QVC. Some are legit, others, in my opinion, are the fault of the buyer. With that said, one of the things I appreciate most with QVC is their return policy. Yes, it's extended during the last months of the year which is fantastic. But, even during the rest of the year you have 30 days and can return AFTER using, wearing, testing, whatever it takes to determine if you want to keep. Every other online retailer I personally have bought from requires items in NEW condition with original packaging.

I can't remember the last time I returned anything I purchased. From the retailers point of view, I can understand why they are making changes.
When I see even huge companies reporting in the high millions of $$$ quarterly losses! Anyone that watches any national news should be aware of why, even major companies, have to stem the flow of losses.
Not many things from manufacturers/to distributors/to retailers, to customers, that were not effected by the happenings over the last almost 3 years.
Good be on you for making others aware of these changes.

No issue with stricter return policies. I return for one reason: it's defective. If damaged by the shipper, the vendor can go after them for the money lost. If it arrived obviously defective when it left the vendor, then shame on them for allowing a defective item to be sold. If the wrong color/size/item is sent, that's on the vendor as well.
Many places have different policies in place for their in-store vs online shopping purchases; it's up to the customer to educate themselves on such things. We pay for the "users" in society; about time companies (like Nordstrom, for example) stop rewarding them.

I don't know if the Lord&Taylor return policy has changed, but I received a pair of boots that I need to return and 12/27 is the last day. That seems like a short window especially during Christmas.

It keeps costs down for the rest of us.

@GenXmuse Don't know if you bought it in store or online; my local store back in MD closed and all that is left of L&T are an outlet type of store and yes, they have a short return time (as does all the other discount/outlet places). Some department stores have an 18 day return policy, some are only a week. With the holidays, some have extended it to just after Xmas or the New Year. Maybe that's why yours is the 27th; timed for a Xmas return.

Here are some that I'm concerned with, other stores don't really matter to me:
WE LOVE YOUR LOOK (BUT WE WON'T HOLD YOU TO IT).
Bought it but don't love it? That's OK. We've all been there.
You'll have 90 days to return most Bloomingdale's purchases for a refund, as long as your purchase is still in saleable condition. The Final Offer items must be returned within 30 days of the purchase date. Some departments, such as Designer Brands, have special return policies, which are linked. While we cannot accommodate every return, we value you and will always be reasonable. We ask that you do the same.
Remember - we offer free returns every day on online orders. Our hassle-free return policy is part of our commitment to taking care of you every step of the way.
More than anything, we want you to love our style as much as we love yours.
No receipt? We will issue a merchandise credit. Without proof of purchase, you will receive the lowest selling price in the last 180 days. For returns without a receipt, we may require you to provide your name and address, unless we have it on file. We may use your name and address for our security and marketing purposes. Please be assured that any information you provide will be handled in accordance with our customer privacy policy.

Need to make a return? We no longer send return labels with orders, but you can still print your own prepaid label, get a QR code to use at eligible USPS locations or make your return in store.
We now accept eligible returns of Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com merchandise at Nordstrom Rack locations. Fine jewelry and designer items purchased at Nordstrom or Nordstrom.com are not eligible to be returned to Nordstrom Rack stores. Boutique returns must be processed at the store where they were originally purchased.
Is there a time limit? What if the item is worn?
We will do our best to take care of customers and deal with them fairly; we ask that our customers treat us fairly as well. From time to time we may not accept a return. There are no time limits for returns or exchanges.

This one is old though
Now that the 12 days of Christmas are coming to a close, it's time for the 12 (or so) days of Christmas returns to begin.
I doubt anyone cares about retailer policies from 2014.

Not surprising--I wondered how in the world can the businesses make any money with the tons of returns they deal with--i have a very surprising story about a recent return back to QVC---I mailed a package last Sunday from a blue USPS mailbox and this morning---got a notice that my return had been refunded back to my card!!!!! I am in WA state---and usually it takes 3 weeks for the thing to be received by QVC and another 2 weeks at least, for a refund----what planet am I on?????? ![]()
