No, nor had I, @sunshine45 .   I just supposed that this particular passing had prompted @on the bay  to reflect on losses in general, and then to think we will be hearing more and more in future about those who have succumbed because of the virus.

@Oznell @sunshine45 ,

you're right. Sorry i guess my brain lately has a one track when I see someone died☹️

Thank you Mr. Withers for so many beautiful tunes. Some not as well known as others like "Who is He and What is He to You", "Grandma's Hands" and one of my favorites:

Let Me Be The One You Need

How apropos......

Lean on Me, Bill Withers
Sometimes in our lives, we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show

You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.

I saw several recent photos of Withers online today and gosh he aged well.

By the way, he is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee so I'm sure it will do a tribute to him.

A fun Monk episode is Mr. Monk Goes To Las Vegas in which Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) sings Ain't No Sunshine.

@Oznell Thanks for posting the YouTube link. I've listened to the song a few times today. It made me think again how funny it is that some things seem like they happened just yesterday (like listening to that song on the radio) and at the same time so long ago (like listening to that song on the radio!) 🙂

the statement from his family is "Heart Complications"

I listen to at least one of his songs every. single. day.
