@SharkE I once had a boss in his 20's who would guzzle 2-3 MDs a day until his wife finally put her foot down and made him switch to something else.

He would get so hyper he drove everyone nuts.

Excedrin, which provides my daily intake of caffeine since I don't drink coffee anymore, has 65 mg caffeine per tablet, or 130 mg per dose for me. I take two tablets two times per day.

Did hear about the Panera lemonade situation, which is scary.

sugar overload and I think caffeine.

@SharkE - When DD was a baby she had stomach issues. Our pediatrician recommended Sprite. When she was 2, we were making the 12-hour trip to visit family. We stopped to eat at a fast food place that didn't have Sprite. They told us Mountain Dew was the same thing. DH and I had heard of it, but neither of us had ever had it. So OK - we gave her MD. She was up for 2 days straight, in homes with no air conditioning, in August. She was wide awake and she was hot. And she was screaming. She finally went to sleep at my aunt and uncle's, but she didn't sleep longer than usual. And she was fine.

When we returned from our trip home DH called our pediatrician and told him what had happened. He laughed and said that Mountain Dew had more sugar and more caffeine than anything else on the market!   Smiley Wink

Sbux is transparent about the amount of caffeine in the drink.

 The problem with Panera was that they have their beverages out as self service, so one could keep drinking and drinking that lemonade for as long as they were there plus a refill to go I'm sure.

@LTT1

I used to drink their tropical green smoothie everyday.  That is the only drink I have ever had there other than coffee when we had morning meetings.  Usually I order their sandwiches or soups to go and drink water at home.  I do love their sandwiches and pastries.

Regarding the Panera incident.  The young lady who chose that lemonade drink didn't know it was extra-caffinated.  She had an existing heart problem and knew not to consume anything with caffeine.  She thought it was plain lemonade.  This was such a tragedy and so easily preventable if Panera had labeled the drink dispenser properly.  So very sad.
