When I worked in the museum I do remember reading about the floods in 1915, but also the floods in 1958 were horrendous.  I remember we lived in San Carlos at the time. The floods were awful, all downtown SC, Redwood City, San Mateo was flooded.  They rode down the El Camino in boats and Canoes to get to stores.  My aunts in Los angeles were flooded as was Manteca.  I was a kid, we knew people in these towns so thats how I remember.  But I think that might be the 100 year flood they refer too.  In 1915 California was mainly farmland, so it is possible that would have been under water.  There were few reservoirs  and basically no city sewer systems

Noel, are you doing ok in all this rain. Oroville dam is in bad shape, mud slides, it's scary out there!

Raining now through two tomorrow, than drying out for a few days.

We're getting hit with heavy rain again....but it's very warm!   Have my windows open. 

there have been reports of more flooding and mudslides.  A worker who was cleaning up a mudslide today on highway 17 lost his life and another worker was seriously injured
