@Oznell   I also love barn pictures. I especially like the last blue barn you posted. I found it on Wayfair and am even thinking about buying it!  The colors would fit my room so well.

Grandma and Grandpa had a farm and we were there often. Loved jumping out of the hay mow into a deep bunch of hay. Lots of cats in the barn we played with too. Grandpa got rid of all his cows after he took a big fall off a ladder while painting the barn and broke his back so the barn really became a big playhouse for us. So much fun!

I can't believe all the close associations, memories and comments different posters have on barns!  Did not expect this much response, and it is delightful to read.  Thanks all for taking the time!

My grandfather had a dairy and I loved going for a visit. They only lived an hour away. I still love to see old barns and buildings.

My father in law was an artist who painted landscapes. Many of them had barns and old buildings in them and we are lucky enough to have many of those paintings.

Thanks for posting the barn pictures. Brings back many memories.

@Oznell Thank you!  We live in farm town USA. There is just something about that  farm life that so appeals to me. I grew up in a fairly big city. Thankfully, it was only a 20 minute drive to the farm. I'm going to Wayfair after this to buy that picture!

Don't know where this one is located, but love the size, bright color against the snow, charming dormers--

DH paternal grandfather was a farmer. DH spent every summer there and as often as he could during other vacation time.

DH still has some pictures, taken with an old Polaroid b&w film.

The barn stayed until the last parcel of land was sold.

@jubilant ,  I love the colors and that moody, impressionistic feeling of that picture too-- nice choice!

@Cakers3 ,  thanks so much for doing a little detective work and identifying that stately barn!   To me, it makes it more enjoyable to know exactly where things are...

@Oznell You are welcome. The restoration is beautiful. Thankfully the history has been preserved.

My grandparents had a farm in Wisconsin.  We lived in PA.  Spent most of our summer vacation at the farm.  They had cattle and hay.  We usually drove, so saw lots of barns on the trip.  My mom loved going home, and I have not been back since early 2000's when my grandma died.

My aunt and uncle (remaining children) sold the land to housing developers and they (the developers) went belly up in the 2008 financial crisis. So no housing was built.  My mom died before my grandma, so I really wish I had more history about acquiring the farm. I know they did have the farm in the early 60's.  Their house was a small one bedroom house with a huge kitchen.  Lots of great memories!  Thanks for sharing @Oznell.

I always get a happy feeling when I see, drive past, or whatever, a barn! No, I didn't grow up with one.
