@Pezzie

I wonder what that tall object next to the hawk is....

I wondered that also.  Looks like something with buds on it.

@StylishLady2 Truth!!  We back up to a dry creek/greenbelt.   We had baby ducks in our pool one year.  The neighborhood hawk would swoop down to get one and out of nowhere ducks would come flyiing in to get him away.  It was like watching a National Geographic special each afternoon.

I'm always nervous if I see a hawk. I feed the birds and the hawks have been know to swoop in and get one of the little birds right from the feeder. It just always makes me feel sad since I invite the birds into my yard and then he gets one.

That is one handsome hawk! We have mostly redtails and Cooper's hawks but we also have a large murder of crows that stay close enough to give chase when the need arises.

Beautiful bird and what a view!  We could not have more different back yards.  I'm in SC. My back yard has huge oak trees, lots of shade and squirrels running around.  Would love to see your view.

Knew you must be in Arizona when I saw the cacti. That type didn't grow in NM when I lived there. Beautiful hawk. We have a red-shouldered hawk that likes to sit on our backyard fence every weekend morning. Like clockwork he is there, facing the house. We never let our small kitty on the patio when he is there...you can't be too careful!
