Hello!

If you order an item and it states IN PROCESS... and then 2 days later it says BACKORDER, what does that mean?

I originally thought that it meant the item was out of stock, but the item in question is still available to purchase and it also says IN STOCK.

Any clarification on this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks! Smiley Happy

@MissBonBon    Their warehouse jargon is sometimes incomprehensible so we really don't know.  Sometimes, due to erratic shipping schedules, it means it has not yet arrived in the warehouse.  So you may get it or it may never arrive.

@MissBonBon To me it means maybe you'll get it and maybe you won't!

I see ... a 50/50 chance. Smiley LOL

Oh well... I will just have to be patient and wait and see.

Thank you for your replies!

Has happened to me several times.

I interpret it to mean the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

@Foxxee    I think they know.  Too bad its a secret and they won't share with the customer.

Re: BACKORDER Question

@MissBonBon

QVC continues to earn a "Grade *D*" on *Inventory Management*

QVC earns another "Grade "D"" in "Q Inventory Management" & "!T Dept"  talking to one another..

QVC Customers earn a "Grade "A" in Patience & Tenacity  (for now) with QVC's "above continued incompetencee" of Q's critical sales & inventory, & Q's IT functions

A backorder means that the total number of stock provided by the vendor to us was incorrect. The item is out of stock and we will try to reorder. If we are unable to do so within two to three weeks, your order will be cancelled and you will be notified by letter.

Waitlist is offered when QVC has a reasonable expectation (not a guarantee) that the item will return to stock within 45 days. For a waitlist order, you may receive a return or an item held by a check.

Hope that helps!

I have never received an item that went to Backorder.  Waitlist yes, but Backorder no.

When that happens now, I cancel.  Maybe you will have better luck!

Well fancy that... as of right now my order is IN PROCESS again! I really hope this is true and not a back and forth game. I will keep you all posted. Heart
