Re: Aunt visited me while in coma.

Some of my friends who have finally died of cancer found it came back after many years; 20 is not at all unreasonable. I have heard there is still something in the system that stays, even after one if pronounced cancer free. Maybe a person with a medical background could clarify this information.

The only time loved ones or friends appear to me are in dreams and that is quite frequent and very real.

This a lovely post, and I also believe loved ones come back around you, besides appearing in very real dreams.

As a C survivor of about twenty six years, I was diagnosed with colon cancer, about one year ago, yes, after regular colonoscopies that found nothing. It was contained and very early, however the oncologist I saw, a friend in fact, wanted me to take an extensive chemo treatment. He said that just in case there were any stray cells this would get them.

I strongly believe if you have cancer once, you will get it again. When, it seems to vary. It is not necessarily the same kind of cancer either. A younger lady I know had breast cancer thirteen years ago, and just finished about thirty five radiation treatments for a very rare cancer, a sarcoma of the groin.

I hate to even speculate on it, since my DH had another very rare cancer about three years ago, and I sure hope her never gets another kind.

So sorry to get offtrack here.

I believe you. I had a dream the other night and my Dad came to see me. He didn't speak (he didn't have to) he just looked at me and smiled. That told me everything.

After my grandfather died many years ago, I had dreams about him very often. But then I had one dream in which I told him that I loved him. I think that's why he was visiting me in my dreams. I never had another dream about him again, and I felt a strong sense of relief after that.

Re: Aunt visited me while in coma.

My aunt passed 8years ago. She and I were extremely close since she came into the family when I was 12. Many times she has made her presence known to me while I am awake. Once when I was very down after she passed I looked out on my patio and there was 1 huge rhododendron bloom mid-November (it was my first birthday without her and her telephoning me to sing "happy birthday"). These flowers are done blooming midsummer here in PA. Another time as I was dusting the music box she gave me, I picked it up and it played the ENTIRE song--not just a few notes. I never wound it before. So many other significant and personal occurrences I. The love shared doesn't die when the physical body passes on. HTH.
