AI powered visual effects were already used in last year's film, "HERE."
Tom Hanks and Robin Wright were instantaneously de-aged on camera.
It's here to stay. California law requires the consent of the estate of the deceased to use their image in AI films, but I can see it happening in certain circumstances, especially given the potential for compensation.

Mr. Wilkes:
If I were an 'aging' actor, I would love for my younger images being used in new films, TV series, etc.
I can't think of the exact word(s), but I guess I mean that one can 'live forever' throughout future years and generations.
As time goes by, in updated settings and story lines in those particular future times.
As I said before, I'd love, love to see Steve McQueen in an updated story line / film.
Could be a thriller, crime story, love story, and/or just about any type of film.

we'd all better get used to it

@icezeus I chuckled as I read this, but I, too, am quite leery of it! I sometimes receive correspondence from my doctor or even dictated voicemails and they are riddled with mistakes.🫤 It has to be the use of AI, Can you imagine if it is responsible for sending lab or other results?

All playing parts via AI.
As I've said before, if I were an aging actor, I'd love the opportunity to sign a contract to keep my younger day looks while playing a part in new TV series, movies, etc.
Talk about living forever.......(in the minds of viewers and fans).
@ROMARY This is an interesting perspective I had not thought of, but WELCOME that use of it! I can think of many actors and actresses I would like to see again in new movies!😊

I'm:77, I am so over all this stuff. Don't know much about it, but I just am not one to go for stuff like that. I think, why would I need it. I get along okay. lol. But that's me. Kids don't think like us old people lol, they have grown up with stuff. Probably just a progression for them.
Im out

I agree with those who say it is very much a slippery slope. On its most basic level, I can see how some of it would be helpful -- looking things up, keeping track of data, etc. -- however, in some ways, it encourages people to use less of their own intelligence and creativity. Is it really helping people to become smarter themselves? Or to just rely on AI to do more and more?
Not to mention the whole, "Is it AI or isn't it?" in relation to photos, videos, etc. Those will get better and better such that it isn't discernible.
And too we've seen the movies where the question is raised, "Is there really an "off" switch to AI"?
Lastly, I liken AI to processed foods. Processed foods are convenient, tasty, cheap -- and everywhere. Hard to resist. Are we better off with processed foods? The epidemic of chronic disease would argue no. We aren't built to run on such food as that. I worry the same with AI in terms of its mental/physical impacts as well as global impact.
