I appreciate the links to the article. I think it will be interesting to see how Zulily will be brought into the mix. Somehow I foresee Courtney, Amy, and/or Kerstin heading that venture. What do you think?

The Obi is famous!

I think Courtney was in the video purposefully to attract the millenials who would watch it. That's the group QVC is trying to target after all! ![]()

This certainly clarifies how hard the hosts' job really is. All the while they're talking about the product, interacting with the vendor, and trying to be entertaining to the watching public, they've got these people shouting in their ears as to what to say next, push next, give updates on number of sales, take a call from a customer (and who knows . . . scolding if they make an error?).
Being a host is a lot more than what we see on TV . . . it's a very hard job. I have a lot of respect for them.

Interesting but it's what I thought. No surprises. I do think Q v c' s major challenge is how to bring in younger, more affluent customers. They try but with little success, so far. It's not crucial to busines now but it will be in years to come.

What do you think this means..."fast-fashion apparel?"...
"QVC is also experimenting with commissioning some fast-fashion apparel that would allow it to lean in more quickly to new trends. None of that merchandise has hit airwaves or the Web yet."
Couple of things for me after reading this article (thx for posting)...I am not in any way their average, loyal shopper. I rarely buy anything...maybe 4 or 5 (mostly LDO) items per year...their average customer buys 22 + items! Also, it brings home just how small a percentage of customers we forum users represent...which translates to: they could not care less what we think LOL!
@stevieb Thot you might be interested in this article.

Thanks @MacDUFF... Interesting item. The article seems to be the focus of several threads... To me, it reads like a press release or something developed 'in-house' to try to appease stockholders and the board of directors than it does any sort of actual journalistic inquiry... They will always be able to 'justify' why they do what they do, and their offerings will always appeal to a cadre of shoppers, but for me, and seemingly quite a few others, their current act has grown very stale. And no, a steady diet of high profit beauty and kitchen wares isn't going to keep me glued to the screen... or to my 'device'...
