๐ŸŽถ Aretha Franklin Retiring? ๐Ÿ‘‘

Sounds like semi-retirement to me.  You be da judge....

"Aretha Franklin plans to retire from recording music later this year.

The Queen of Soul told a Detroit TV station that she would record an album to be released in September before hanging up her mic. โ€œI must tell you, I am retiring this year,โ€ Franklin told WDIV Local 4.

Her album will feature all original songs, some of which will be produced by Stevie Wonder, she said. Everything will be recorded in Detroit, a city of great importance to Franklin.

โ€œI feel very, very enriched and satisfied with respect to where my career came from, and where it is now,โ€ Franklin told the TV station. โ€œI'll be pretty much satisfied, but I'm not going to go anywhere and just sit down and do nothing. That wouldn't be good either.โ€

This isnโ€™t necessarily a permanent goodbye. The legendary singer will offer her fans a short tour for the album, and then she will remain open to โ€œsome select things, many one a month, for six months out of the year,โ€ she said.

Franklin turns 75 this year and has been performing for 56 years straight, even in spite of recent health problems."

Aretha has been making music for so long I am glad that she has the opportunity to retire.  So many others just died and ever got to retire.

I haven't heard anything about her in so many years, I thought she already had retired.

Love LOVE Aretha. Watching her sing Natural Woman and bringing the former president to tears is a moment I'll never forget.

One of my favorites is Do Right Woman, Do Rght Man. Oh my.

If you've haven't seen Bonnie Raitt and Lyle Lovett 's duet, do yourself a favor and google it.
