I don't know where you got that 70% statistic from, it seems to be way off.

All three of my children moved out on their own right after college.

ETA - everything I'm finding is saying between 32 and 36% are living with their parents.

Well, the age cited in your link is age 15 to 29.  No wonder the statistic is so high.  In the US, 15 - 18 year olds are expected to still be living at home.

PEW social trends lists it at 32% for 18 - 34 year olds.

Top entry from google search - "More young adults are now living with their parents than during the recession, according to U.S. Census data. The share of 18-to-34-year-olds living with their parents was 31.5% as of March 2015, up from 31.4% last year, according to a report from the Commerce Department on Monday.Nov 23, 2015"

Yes, my daughter is still living at home with us.

She would certainly prefer to be on her own.

Roughly 66% of our offspring reside with us at this time.
Do the math.

@cherry, just because it doesn't apply to you doesn't mean its not true.

Not currently but he moved back before. Right after college.

Took him 18 mos to find a job and that's about average. Good state school & good grades.

We've made contingency plans should one of us lose our jobs again. Or should a worse economic event happen.

@itiswhatitis - Not sure what your point is on this.  The critical thing about statistics is paying attention to the specifics.  In the case of the usnews report as I previously posted, the inclusive age range is 15 to 29 which is bizarre.

How is your daughter?  Have you (finally) found any relief for constant pain?

Re: Are your adult children living at home?

She's the same.  Another refusal by her primary doctor for pain medication.

We have an appt. with the rheumatologist again next month.

I have never felt so helpless.  Thanks for asking!
