Re: Are you passive or not? Would this bug you?

Shorty, do you think that your constant pain is causing you to be a bit irritable. Your post sounds irritable to me, certainly , I could understand how that could happen.

If you have an HOA this would be a good reason to use them - report the junk car. Take pictures of the car on your bumper and turn them in.

I would consider a new driveway for myself. If you own the property and house, I'd ask for a permit to do so.

The various remedies you have listed sound passive-aggressive, with an emphasis on aggressive.

Please contact your HOA and let them handle it. That's what you are paying for - they are there to help make sure everyone follows the rules.

If you are disabled you should be able to get your mail delivered to a receptacle on your porch. If you qualify for that then you wouldn't have to worry about your mailbox and you wouldn't have to trudge out there in the snow in the winter.

I would contact your HOA also (hope you do). I know that they have hired a company to drive through our neighborhood every two weeks spotting various violations (from numbers on mail box are wrong color, I kid you not, to garbage can exposed from the street. They write the homeowners and give them a timeline to fix the violations. If they choose to ignore, fines are imposed. Personally I would be aggrevated also. Good luck and let us know what happens.

If the neighbor's junk car is truly junky and they don't drive it very often remove the tags then report it as an abandoned car.

I disagree with this. Don't touch someone else's property and removing their tags would amount to vandalism.

I must really be dense because I do not understand this scenario. I'm assuming the OP is talking about parking on the road or street and in order for the mail truck to fit, there is only room for 2 cars. If so I guess she is saying she does not want the neighbors to park their cars in between the mailboxes because she feels that is her husband's space.

If this doesn't bother your husband, and since you do not drive, let it go. Or, widen your driveway and have your husband park there.

Are you getting your mail? If not, complain to the police. If you are getting your mail, back off and stop focusing on something you can do little or nothing about. They sound like the kind of people who love to be on your nerves. They found out you don't like them throwing their smokes on your lawn so they do it more. They are probably getting a big kick out of bugging you with that car. Don't let them. Just ignore it if you're getting mail. Smile and wave when you see them outside, it'll drive them crazy. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I don't know what the law in in your area but where I live a car cannot be parked in the same spot more than 72 hours. Law enforcement will ticket the vehicle then tow it if it hasn't been moved.

Exactly. Out here Gato it's a separate dept called Code Enforcement. There was an RV parked for days on our street and it was towed. Also, we have no HOA.

Re: Are you passive or not? Would this bug you?

I did not come from a passive family; I did not marry a passive natured man, and I did not raise passive daughters. We are rednecks, and would have never tolerated what you are tolerating, but then I can't picture us living in a country development either. We live very rural, our property is posted, so we have our own rules.
