Re: Are you an introvert, extrovert, omnivert or ambivert?

@chickenbutt,

me too with so many things you said.

Esp in large crowds, I do just the same as you.

But also don't mind leading a small group.

Definitely Introvert. Like many here...I recharge, big time, by myself, and need plenty of that after being social.

I like being social too...but also it's different with one on one friends vs bigger groups. It's the big social events where I then need to go recharge...wears me out for whatever reason or how I'm wired. Also tend to have more close deep friendships than lots of superficial social contacts.

I've taken that Myers Briggs test a few times...definitely an INFP, then also took a class that went in depth on those personality types: what work environment is best for you and why; how to raise certain types; how they best learn; relationships. Very enlightening.

If you are interested the book "Please Understand Me" is a good one, explaining the types.

**Update...I'd actually never heard of "Omnivert"...just looked it up and I really relate to that. I do need to step back and recharge by myself after lots of socializing. I also enjoy solitary pursuits, quiet downtime. But after I've recharged, I do love to socialize also, and in familiar groups, I don't think people would think of me as introverted. Interesting topic.

Somewhere there is a cave away from civilization with my name on it.

@amyb I've been tested three times because I kept getting INFJ which is the rarest of the rare. I think less than 1% of the world's population. High five, fellow rarity. 🙌🏻Smiley Happy

Patterning after my Dad's personality, I am an extrovert and loved teaching, and still "teach" very much where I work.

I've been tested and went to a training. I'm 100% extrovert. No one in the training was surprised!  Smiley Wink

100% Introvert.  One-on-one is usually ok but even small groups exhaust me.  As I’ve gotten older, I become fatigued more easily.  I’m energized by spending time outdoors in nature.

@on the bay    I was an extrovert until I retired and found I liked spending time with myself. I am still an extrovert in a social situation.

I have enjoyed all your threads today, fun and interesting.

Re: Are you an introvert, extrovert, omnivert or ambivert?

i am generally an extrovert, but sometimes lean omnivert.

i NEVER feel lonely......and i cherish my "alone time" when it happens.

i have no issues sitting at a bar by myself, a restaurant table by myself, or traveling by myself.
