Are you an introvert, extrovert, omnivert or ambivert?

Reading about all these,

I learned something new again today!

And btw, don't worry those who think these are "uninteresting" and "beaten to death" lol! this is my last for today and I don't usually start a lot of new ones.

This is really interesting. you can put in search bar the subject and try to decide which you are.

I do like my own company and rarely if ever get bored but can get lonely at times.

I like to spend 50% of my time outside with non humans lol!

I would think of myself as an introvert recharging when alone (vs and exrovert who gets energy from being around people), but a lot who know me think I'm an extrovert so I might just be an ambivert!

And I like one on one best with people or small groups. And also people I especially like. But I can speak in large crowds too -words just come out right but they don't always when I'm with those I know and just being informal.

How bout you?

If your're not exhausted from all these new threads lol!

Introvert to the max.

I was exhausted after Christmas Eve dinner and spent the next two days hiding to recover myself. It really is a monumental thing for me to be on for an entire day with other people. I need my breaks and me time.

I feel the same way you do.  I am an introvert and need alone time to regroup.  Some people see me as anti-social (so I have been told) but I don't see myself that way.  I see it this way it takes all kinds of personalities to make the world go round.

@catter70,

I never used to either but I think with always quarantining so much from one or the other family group near me and I live in a very isolated area.

However I do always have company from my possum, racoon family, deer, hawks, my chipmonk, and bird friends that show up and well I like to imagine they are saying hi! So that is very nice, when I can't see my kids and grandkids for awhile.

Oh, you're so exhausting!  Smiley Wink

(glad the one comment was ignored on that thread)

Anyhoo, I guess I'm somewhere in the middle.  I'm alone 99% of the time, alone as to other humans that is.   I like it very much.

I do ok with people but tend to be pretty shy if I find myself among a bunch of people I don't know.  I'm the one who will find a perimeter and, often, do people-watching.  If somebody comes over to talk to me, unless they are unpleasant, I am a fairly good conversationalist (I think).

I used to have a pretty active social life and enjoyed it.  I also entertained and really liked that, too.

I guess I'm just over it all and am fine alone.  I'm not a very trusting soul (for good reasons), though, so it's not super easy to trust somebody.  I have a small number of trusted friends who I cherish and have contact either through phone/text/email, frequently with some.

I am an omnivert.  I try to do more listening than speaking.  When I'm listening, I'm learning.  The most productive speaking I do is when I'm asking questions.

Re: Are you an introvert, extrovert, omnivert or ambivert?

I am an introvert. I prefer to not be around other people at any time. I cannot do my best work in a group setting. That situation is very draining and tiring for me. The ironic thing is that I have had to work in public facing jobs all of my life. I would be exhausted at the end of the day. When I was teaching I left as soon as we were allowed. I went home and sat in the quiet to collect myself. I did my lesson plans and preparations at home instead of in my classroom.

During the lockdown I did not miss people, but I did miss shopping or dining in my favorite places. This board is ideal for me. I can interact if and when I choose all from the comfort of my home.

The biggest signal of all is if you recharge and get back your energy from being alone or with other people. I know many extroverts and they tire me out. It's always been a mystery to me how they crave other people to feel energized. I have a wonderful time spending a weekend reading good books.
