The same with me. I never make them.....because I don't want to break them. Goals are always good. It is something we have to strive for.

Never kept any resolutions, so I don't set myself up for failure. Instead I make a new plan.

For the life of me, I just don't understand why people think they need to do this .... once every 365 days!
If you have a goal in August, start in August. Don't wait for January 1st.
I always wonder ..... does anyone ever actually do NY resolutions because it's part of how they run their lives .... or do they do it because they think they're supposed to?

I have never been into making New Years resolutions. But to all who do, best of luck

@CareBears thats a good goal. I was caught in the middle of one of those. I was going over and over the facts of a situation because I had to make a choice, and once done there was no changing my mind. I felt like I had to keep rechecking the same info, but couldn't move forward to a decision.
Then I just stopped, and asked "Do you trust yourself?"
I'd already gathered the information and reviewed it. I knew what I wanted to do. I answered "Yes" and never looked back.
That same question has served me well for decades of decision making.

@x Hedge I am going to try real hard to follow your advice, too much clutter in my mind of years of self doubt, it sure does not do a body or heart any good!

I made a resolution years ago to never make them again and that's the only one that has ever worked. Not gonna' mess with it now. ![]()

Beats me @Tinkrbl44. I've never done a New Year's resolution before this. Frankly I agree, you start something because it's time to start it, you don't set a date in the future as a delaying tactic.
But when I was growing up a lot of my friends and their parents made New Year's resolutions every year so I guess it's tradition for a lot of people.
And actually I started this with three paragraphs, then came back and lopped off the first two. I couldn't leave nothing since there was a title on the top of the thread.
Merry Christmas.
