Re: Are You Excited About the Eclipse?

@Kitty Galore  No need to look straight at it. any hole in a large piece of poster board will shine a little spot of light on a wall or some such thing that will show the progress of the eclipse.  If you are out doors a tinted car windshield reflects the eclipse nicely.

even the leaves in the trees will make an interesting pattern on the ground as the sun slivers through them.

For me, my area isn't near totality. I'm sorta Happy to sidestep the hoopla.

Re: Are You Excited About the Eclipse?

Very interesting!  The last eclipse in 2017 and then the 2024 eclipse path.  A big X!

@Sooner  I'm not sure what word describes how I feel about the eclipse.

God uses the sun, moon, and stars to tell us things, give us signs. The Bible states this. There has never been an eclipse like this one and it is being discussed a lot. The path of this total solar eclipse crosses the path of the 2017 one forming an X over the US. Warning? Judgement? Coming war? There are so many Biblical connections to these and it is very interesting to learn about, especially along with what has happened after other total eclipses.

Total solar eclipses are messages for the nations. Total lunar eclipses are messages for Israel.

You couldn't pay me to go to watch this from the path of totality. There is a chance nothing noticeable will happen at the time but, horrible earthquakes were triggered by a similar one, I think it was in the 1800s.

we live in upstate NY so we are in the path .   No way  am I looking  at it even with those glasses !  first of all don't trust any of the glasses no matter what they say that they are safe .   My eyes are too important to me.   If it's a sunny day I'll notice it dark from inside my house .  My ophthalmologist warned me and his patients not to trust the glasses and even a few seconds could damage eyesight .

@Kitty Galore NASA, millions of viewers, and decades of testing and data say otherwise. Just make sure they come from a reputable source.

It's hard to find eclipse glasses available. They are being scooped up everywhere!!

Re: Are You Excited About the Eclipse?

We live not far from the path of totality, so it's big around here. School districts are cancelling classes that day. I absolutely plan on going somewhere to witness this historic event. I ordered glasses months ago anticipating a shortage as the event drew closer.
