I'm not.

I wish that I was at least half-way decent.

Don't get me wrong, I love to do karaoke, but I have no false illusions of winning the next Grammy for "Hot New Artist".

So, can you carry a tune?

I love singing!  My mother was the organist and choir director of the church I grew up in.  I was in the junior choir as soon as I could read (words).  Then I took piano lessons for a few years and learned to read music.  I was in the adult choir at my current church for several years.  I'm 71 now and I don't like the way my voice sounds... it's different from what it used to be.  But I still enjoy singing in church.

I can't "carry a tune in a suitcase"

that doesn't stop me from singing

while we're at it ..... I can't dance either

but I dance like no one is watching!

I love music

I love listening to music and I do sing along with songs I love, it is done in private though because I am only not a good singer but I would say I can't hold a tune!!!!

Re: Are You A Good Singer?

[ Edited ]

No, very bad alto.

But I love to sing - kareoke I will render ‘Blueberry Hill’ or ‘Friends in Low Places’.   Not a pleasure to hear but I love it!

My younger days in U.K. At our local pub we all had ‘our song’ mine ‘Bye Bye Blackbird’.  DH used to cringe when we walked in as your song would start up and you had to sing your way in!  Loved it!  Oh and I love singing hymns.

I sound fairly good as long as I stay in my range!  Alto Annie.

I can carry a tune but nothing solo worthy. My toddler grandson loves to sing with me. Trained on two instruments, but would trade both for knowing how to play guitar.

Me too!  Mom was trained in Grand Opera and there was always singing in our house. I started taking piano lessons at 8yo. and started singing Grand Opera when I was 10. Sang in every chorus through my school years, and later sang in the choir in our church. Before the virus hit, also sang in the Master Chorus where I live.  Sad to say the Master Chorus broke up and I don't see it coming back anytime soon. Something I learned in my early years that have given me great joy my whole life.
