@Kachina624

My Nonno (grandfather) was a Ranger in the Dolomites before the war. He died before I met him. I do have some fantastic photos of him in his Ranger / Alpini (Italian mountain military) clothes.

Thank You so much for that video. I cried. I miss the Dolomites.

Re: Are You A Beach Person?

[ Edited ]

I love the beach.  I have a second home at the beach and spend several weeks in the summer there.  I am able to schedule work meetings in the mornings and go to the beach in the afternoons.

I don't;however,  wear beach themed clothing.

We tried a couple of mountain vacations a long time ago and never went back.  It just isn't our thing.  We do love the beach though, although at this point will never make it back.  But we both miss it.

Well, I do live on the shore, and could walk to the beach if I'd like, but no, I don't like the beach. It's way too "peopley" for me. 🤪

I prefer where I am now ... at my pool, and watching all the pretty birdies come to my bird feeder. 😊 Chipmunks and squirrels, too!

Oooooh that sounds nice @JFD12 !

Interesting question @Kachina624 . We are fortunate to have a home on the coast of north San Diego and one in Kauai. I am definitely a beach person when in Kauai, but a pool person in California. I believe you see more "beach" themed attire due to it being summer. In the winter we hear more about cold weather items, pj's by the fire, tons of sweaters and coats and so on. I LOVE the mountains and have kids living in Colorado so I get my "fix" of the mountains 3-4 times a year when visiting. I must say, there are far more bugs and spiders in Colorado. I do not find the ocean boring, nor is it that crowded, at least in my areas, with the exception of holidays. We bike ride, snorkel, swim, paddle board, etc. Never boring. We hike and we see and/or swim with the turtles, almost daily see the monk seals on the sand, and during the season we see the whales and the dolphins.  We live in bathing suits, cover ups and dresses so the apparel offered works well for me.  Gosh, I hope for those of you that don't like the beach get to experience the better parts of the beach some day. It really is beautiful.

Lived there, done that.  Happy to be inland.

I love all outdoors, including the ocean. We spend most of our summer on the beach.

@Nonametoday Agree. This is why the majority of the year (about 2/3) we live in our home in San Diego. I miss my family too much. Smiley Happy

ITA! I enjoy watching the ocean from the balcony in the shade..or from inside through the window...but that's about it for me...I do like shelling very early before the sun is up very much or at sunset...my happy lace is in a mountain cabin or hiking through the woods....used to live in the foothills of the Smokies and I surely do miss it!
