Are There Any Percolator Fans Here?

Believe me, I know I'm in the minority {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} but I love coffee percolators. When I heard my mom and aunts say "I'm putting on the coffee" in the '50s and '60s they were talking about percolators. I'm particularly fond of the vintage Pyrex stovetop percolators, and have the 6-9 cup, 4-6 cup, 2-4 cup and one of the pre-'52 "skinny" models. The old Pyrex percolators are virtually indestructible. They had to be when you consider that the company originally made glass railroad lanterns, after which someone came up with the bright idea to make percolators.

Many people prefer to press a button but, IMO, percolators give coffee that sense of "ceremony" that tea has (I'm a tea-drinker, too). You can't beat the look of these things on a stove, either. And there's nothing better than the aroma of perked coffee when you come in from raking leaves on a crisp, fall day.

They're all over the place at antique shows/flea markets, so others clearly don't share my love affair with them. More for me!
