I have said this before, I will subscribe and cancel my AppleTV account, I buy myself an Apple gift and add the amount to my account. Anyway I just added a $25 gift card to my account and they offered me two months of AppleTV for free ( you can also say no thanks). You don't have to ask me twice, free AppleTV, yes please! I don't know if this has been an ongoing offer, but it said because I bought a gift card I could claim the offer.

@Jordan2

When I signed up for my 3 months free subscription to Apple TV, it stated the fee would be $6.99 a month after that.

I'm confused. That would be $14.00 for 2 months which is lower than a $25 gift card. Do you pay more for your subscription?

@sugar plum it use to be $5.99 a month, but is now $6.99 a month. My $25 buys me three months of AppleTV. You can add money to your account, they show what your balance is ( mine is $40 right now). Whatever you purchase from Apple (tv, apps, songs, games) gets deducted from your account balance. I am paying $.99 a month for iCloud storage, that gets deducted from my account monthly. I like buying $25 cards, it's not much money to lay out.

This is where I'm confused. Is it 2 months or 3 months free? Is cloud storage needed to watch Apple TV?

I'm new to all things Apple so I'm curious because I may want to extend my subscription when my free trial ends.

@Jordan2

I think I get it. You buy gift cards to keep money in your account to pay fees and to get a free subscription...

Sorry for all these questions. I appreciate your knowledge and patience while I try to figure this out. 🙂

@sugar plum the offer was for two months free AppleTV because I bought a gift card. The iCloud has nothing to to with the tv subscription, I pay for it because I was running out of storage space on my device.

@sugar plum, you got it. Money in your Apple account can be used for many things such as renting movies on AppleTV, or buying musics on iTune, or in their game arcade, or even purchasing products on their website.

Often when you make an Apple purchase they offer you an additional benefit like a set number of months of a free service for TV streaming, music streaming, or in the arcade.

I hadn't realized that they offered it when adding a gift card. @Jordan2, thanks for the heads up.
