Now that fall has arrived, many local farms and orchards make their own apple cider. This particular cider is NOT PASTEURIZED and the farmers in my area are required to put a label on each bottle noting that this is the case.
I know this cider tastes far better than what you find in the grocery store that is pasteurized but I always hesitate when I see that warning label. You have no idea if they are washing the apples or how the presses are taken care of.
Do you purchase the cider anyway? Would you worry about giving it to a young child?
