Thank you for these ideas.  I can think of bunches & bunches of uses for these Air Tags.

Does one have to have Apple Cell in order ot use these? TIA

@JoyFilled Warrior  Yes you do need an iPhone or other apple device to use Apple air tags. But I'm pretty sure there must be something similar for Android phones.

An air tag is not very good if your car stolen and won't deter a theft.

But, if you forget where you parked, it will help you locate your car...or even tell you you locked your car keys in the car if attached to your keychain.

There are devices sold to deter car thefts and air tags aren't it.

While some may feel The Club is outdated, it's still an affective deterrent. An AirTag is a zero deterrent.

And while there are ways to bust the lock on The Club, it requires time and bringing the equipment. That's why they are often distributed to frequently stolen Kia and Hyundai owners.

It's also possible for any car thief with an iPhone to detect an AirTag present and remove it.

I use Air Tags:

on my keys

in my car (not for theft deterrant, I use a wheel lock for that)

in all of my luggage

There is an uptick in fey FOB skimming where thieves clone your key FOB and can steal your car without having your key if your car has the push to start iginition. I keep my car keys in a signal blocking pouch and box. This is the wheel lock I use
