Our club is going to the local senior citizen's housing complex to play cards in a couple of weeks and I'm in the group that needs to bring an appetizer.
What would be a good appetizer for senior citizens that could be eaten while playing cards? I thought about white chocolate popcorn, but couldn't think of anything else. Maybe some type of beverage? Maybe cheese and crackers? But that is so predictable and I'm sure somebody else would bring that, too.
Any ideas with recipes would be appreciated. Thanks.

Since the seniors will be playing cards I think your idea of popcorn is good (but not chocolate because it will be messy). I would bring little snack cups with pretzel sticks, cheez-it’s, goldfish, plain popcorn, little bite size cookies.

All my ideas involve dips and spreads, which would be impractical - I'll keep on thinking.

@wismiss ~ I suggest something that will be easy to bite into and chew! Many seniors have problems with that, dentures, missing teeth, etc.
Recently, I made croissants, cut them in half and spread some cream cheese, then drizzled with orange butter. I added fresh oj, a bit of vanilla into melted butter.

Sausage balls
Search for Paula Deen's recipe, very simple, always a hit.

Just a note...many seniors may be on restricted diets also....such as no sugar or low sodium...so those factors may be something you want to consider also.

Pinwheels are a fun finger food.
Spread cream cheese and
Chopped green onions, olives or chopped ham on a large flour tortilla. Roll and slice.

Many seniors have problems with diverticulosis and cannot eat popcorn.
This mac and cheese appetizer looks good.

For people who have dietary restrictions, no need to spoil the fun for everyone.
(BTW, I do have dietary restrictions, I don't expect special treatment)
