My friend had an experience with lost money using their bill pay system to pay a person (not a big company) and Chase isn't stepping up to track down what happened or reimbursing him for the lost money. The payee never got or deposited the check. Personally, I've never had a problem with bill pay or Zelle.

@Another new name Sue  the Bill Pay system is with the Bank and I'm surprised that Chase hasn't done anything to help the Customer. I've always gotten great service from that Bank. I don't use their Bill payment though. I set that up myself with the Payee.  It takes a while for them to find the problem but sometimes they will reimburse the Customer until the problem is solved.

I do use Zelle though.

Decided to pop in to say my credit union does not support Zelle.

I would never use Zelle. A much safer option is Paypal's Friends and Family option. Used it for many years and no problems.

@tansy  you're correct. It's only for regular Banks. I once took a friend to the Credit Union to withdraw some money to deposit into her other Bank account so that's when I found out about Zelle and Credit Unions.

Credit Unions can use Zelle.  Some banks and credit unions may choose not to, but it is available to credit unions. I just googled it.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@gidgetgh  yes you are correct. Some Credit Unions do. I just asked my friend what the Lady at the Credit Union told her and she said she was told she could download the Zelle app and enroll her Debit Card. Didn't ask her if she did since, because I haven't had to take her to withdraw again.

My bank offers Zelle and I've been using it for 2 years. My bank offers protection from any fraudulent activity, including Zelle, for free. I've never had a problem and am happy to have it available.

I've been using it monthly for quite some time, never experienced an issue of any kind.
